THAT'S A WRAP

And that's it - the inaugural World Schools Golf Championship has come and gone in a flash! We've enjoyed three tremendous days of golf across three stunning links courses in Longniddry, Craigielaw, and Musselburgh... and it didn't even rain!

A big 'thank you' to all our golfers, teachers, coaches, parents, and spectators who made WSG Golf 2024 a huge success. Thank you, too, to Longniddry Golf Club, Craigielaw Golf Club, and The Musselburgh Golf Club for hosting us and for their excellent hospitality.

And thanks to you for reading this live blog as we've endeavoured to keep you right up-to-date with all the latest #WSGGolf action.

We have so much photo and video content to upload over the coming days, so stay tuned to the World School Games social media platforms. For now, though, we'll sign off on the live blog.

TEAM EVENT CHAMPIONS

Let's hear it for ACS Cobham who have won the Team Event at the World Schools Golf Championship 2024!

A great three days work from the Cobham golfers saw representatives scoop the top prize across all three categories, and the combined Stableford points were enough to edge them in front and secure the WSG Golf Plate.

TEACHERS CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to Steven Adams of ACS Cobham and Brendon Rule of Safa Community School who have won the Teachers category at the World Schools Golf Championship 2024!

Mr Adams finished on 42-over-par after three rounds, four shots clear of second-placed Ian Overton and with a score of 250 in the Stroke Play competition.

In the Stableford, Mr Rule emerged victorious on one-under and just two shots clear of his nearest competitor following a tight contest across the three rounds.

SENIOR CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to Kuan Zhou of ACS Cobham and Cameron Brown of Ross High School who have bagged the top prizes in the Senior category of the World Schools Golf Championship 2024!

Zhou finished 18 strokes ahead of his nearest competitor in the Stroke Play competition with a final score of eight-under-par after putting in excellent performances across all three courses.

Brown picked up first place in the Stableford competition, finishing four shots clear of second-placed Komon Hayashi and with an impressive final score of 120.

JUNIOR CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to Darragh Sidhu of ACS Cobham and Callum Martin of Dunbar Grammar School who have won the Junior category at the World Schools Golf Championship 2024!

Sidhu picks up the Stroke Play award after finishing five shots ahead of Josh Gibson in second place following three rounds of competition.

Martin scoops the top prize in the Stableford competition after finishing three shots clear of Adam Bolley and George Wylie who were tied for second place.

LLOYD SALTMAN JOINS US

The World Schools Golf Championship Awards Ceremony is underway here at The Musselburgh Golf Club as we celebrate the the achievements of all our golfers across the last three days.

Following an introduction by our Director, Scott Macfarlane, we are very lucky to have now been joined by local Scottish golfer Lloyd Saltman.

Saltman - who won the Silver Medal at The Open Championship in 2005 when Tiger Woods ran out as overall winner - was the #1 amateur golfer in the world in 2007 and represented GB and Ireland in the Walker Cup alongside Rory McIlroy and against Dustin Johnstone, Rickie Fowler, and Justin Thomas that same year.

He joins us for a Q&A session about his illustrious career spanning almost 20 years, and shares his top tips for our next generation of golfers.

It will also soon be time to reveal our WSG Golf winners for 2024 so stay tuned...

AWARDS CEREMONY COMING UP

The final round of the World Schools Golf Championship 2024 has now concluded!

Our golfers have put in some great performances across the three days at Longniddry, Craigielaw, and now here Musselburgh, and it will soon be time to see who has been crowned victors across our categories.

The Awards Ceremony - including a very special guest - is coming up soon, and we'll bring you a full rundown of our World Schools Golf Championship winners.

CLOSEST TO THE PIN WINNER

A big well done to Riccardo Bianchi of Brighton College Dubai who has won our Closest to the Pin Challenge on Hole 6 here at The Musselburgh Golf Club with a distance of just 42cm!

He takes home 12 brand new golf balls and a World School Games cap for his efforts.

IT'S HOTTING UP (LITERALLY)

As the sun continues to beat down on The Musselburgh Golf, we are heading into the final few holes of the World School Golf Championship 2024.

It has been another great day of golfing action so far, and our photographers have been busy capturing all the action right across the course.

TEACHING A LESSON

Our media team are out and about on the course and mic'd up Dubai English Speaking College teacher, Mr Hobday, who talked them through his second shot on Hole 13 following his "best drive of the day".

As an additional final day competition, our golfers will take on our Closest to the Pin Challenge when they pass through Hole 6 here at The Musselburgh Golf Club.

Whoever's tee shot lands closest to the flag across the whole day, wins. Simple!

And we're also hearing that there may be a prize for the winner...

DAY THREE HAS ARRIVED

The final day of the World Schools Golf Championship 2024 is upon us, as our golfers aim to be crowned World Champions of school golf later this afternoon!

We have arrived at a resplendent The Musselburgh Golf Club, and our golfers are warming up before teeing off in little over an hour's time.

It promises once again to be an excellent day of golfing action amid perfect conditions, and you can stay right up-to-date via this live blog and the World School Games social media channels.

And that's a wrap. The penultimate day of the World Schools Golf Championship 2024 has come and gone in a flash, with all our competitors enjoying another fun day on the Links.

DAY TWO ROUND-UP: TEACHERS

Finally, Steven Adams leads the Teachers Stroke Play on 31-over-par, with Ian Overton not far behind on 34-over.

In the Stableford it is Brendon Rule out in front on three-over and just two strokes head of Steven Adams. There is then quite a jump down to third where Simon Tomlins sits on 14-over-par.

DAY TWO ROUND-UP: SENIORS

17 Sep | 16:18

In the Senior competition, Kuan Zhou retains his healthy lead in the Stroke Play on eight-under-par and is 16 strokes ahead of Cameron Brown in second place.

Komon Hayashi leads in the Stableford on nine-under, with Brown in second place again but just two strokes behind. Day One's Stableford leader, Evelyn McCarthy, drops down to third spot on three-under-par.

DAY TWO ROUND-UP: JUNIORS

The second day of the World Schools Golf Championship 2024 has drawn to a close here at Craigielaw Golf Club and we can now round up the current leaderboards ahead of tomorrow's final day!

Darragh Sidhu remains in first place in the Junior Stroke Play competition with a score of 10-over-par, and he is four strokes clear of Samuel Robinson and Josh Gibson who are tied in second.

In a very close Stableford competition, Callum Martin is out in front on five-under, just one stroke ahead of Oran Kiely in second. George Wylie and Sidhu are only one stroke behind Kiely, tied in third place on three-under-par.

Finally, in the Teachers Stroke Play Steven Adams is in first place on 18-over-par, while Ian Overton sits in second position on 20-over and just two strokes behind.

The Teachers Stableford sees Steven Adams remain on top of the leaderboard with a score of four-over-par; three strokes better than his nearest competitor, Brendon Rule.

Kuan Zhou leads in the Senior Stroke Play leaderboard on three-under-par and with a score of 65 - five better than his closest competitor Fraser Steven in second place.

In the Stableford, Evelyn McCarthy is out in front on five-under-par and Komon Hayashi is just one stroke behind at the end of Day One.

The wait is finally over...! The World Schools Golf Championship 2024 has officially launched with an Opening Ceremony taking place at the stunning Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh.

Golfers from all across the world have descended on Scotland - the home of golf - ahead of three action-packed days of competition, and were greeted by World School Games Event Series Director, Scott Macfarlane.

Our competitors even caught a first glimpse of the illustrious WSG Golf trophy that they are all vying to get their hands on come close of play on Wednesday!
