The group began their Sri Lanka experience with a meaningful school visit in Seenigama, spending the morning at Peraliya School taking part in painting, reading activities, sports and the presentation of donations to support the local community.
After enjoying a traditional Sri Lankan lunch, the group travelled to historic Galle to explore the iconic Galle Fort and learn about its rich colonial heritage. The day concluded back at the resort with a relaxed evening buffet meal together.
Lots of excitement in camp, and a wholesome first day to kick off the Surf & Sustainability themed tour.
RAD were given a warm welcome at our local school, where they got the chance to immerse themselves into a day in the life of a Sri Lankan student! We got our sleeves rolled up as well, helping with some painting that needs completed within the boundaries of the school.
Our students got the chance to get involved with playtime at the school and share some new games with our Sri Lankan pupils!
This morning we got the chance to explore the Madu River and saw the mangorves up close. A very interesting part of Sri Lanka.
Another chance for our students to roll up their sleeves and help the community - this time on our beach clean! Unfortunately, this type of work will always be required due to the volume of plastic washing up on these beautiful beaches - but we are grateful for RAD giving a helping hand to sort it!
Warm ups under way before an afternoon of beach games before heading home! Thank you for a brilliant time Sri Lanka
An amazing opportunity to work with the turtles in Sri Lanka as the sun started to set over the beach!
