After a long day of travelling, the students from AISR didn’t let the journey slow them down. Instead of heading straight to rest, they went directly to the Kenyan school, where they spent time interacting with local students.
From playing different sports to teaching English, the energy and enthusiasm were nonstop. Smiles filled the day from start to finish, and the connection between the students was truly special. It was a beautiful and meaningful time spent with the children in Kenya, One that everyone will remember.
Day 2 began with an exciting visit to the Giraffe Centre, where the students enjoyed feeding and interacting with the giraffes. For many, it was their first time seeing giraffes up close, and the experience was filled with excitement, laughter, and curiosity as they learned more about these incredible animals.
Later, we visited the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Nursery, where the students watched the baby elephants being fed and showered while learning about their daily lives and conservation efforts. The morning ended on a high note with the sighting of a rhino, which was especially meaningful as it was the first time many of the students had seen one, making it a truly memorable experience for all.
The students visited the National Museum of Kenya, where they learned about the history of Kenya and its strong connection to wildlife. They also explored the Snake Park, discovering different types of snakes and even had the opportunity to take photos with them, which was an exciting experience for many.
After the visit, the group headed to the mall for dinner, bringing a lovely and memorable day to a relaxed and enjoyable end.
Day 3 – Nairobi to Amboseli
After boarding the safari trucks early in the morning, the students travelled from Nairobi to Amboseli, arriving at their lodges after a long but exciting journey. They checked in and enjoyed a well-deserved lunch before setting off for an unforgettable sunset game drive safari.
During the safari, the students witnessed some truly unbelievable wildlife, including sightings of the Big Five. The adventure began with elephants, giraffes, zebras, and hippos, while Amboseli also proved to be a haven for birdwatchers, with countless species set against the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. To perfectly end the day, the group was thrilled to spot the King of the Jungle The Lion, making it a safari experience to remember. 🦁
The students started the day with a beautiful sunrise safari, with Mount Kilimanjaro clearly visible in the background for some amazing photos. During the game drive, they enjoyed seeing lions up close and spotted many different bird species at the viewpoint.
The day ended with a visit to a Maasai village, where the students learned about the Maasai people, their traditions, and daily life. It was a truly special cultural experience before heading back to Nairobi the next morning.
