We are absolutely delighted to welcome back The British School of Kuwait for their April football tour of Madrid. For those interested in a history lesson, BSK came on their first trip with TWEDEX back in April 2012 - they came on a similar trip for the next SEVEN (7!!) years in a row - and after a break, they are back!
We wish them a safe flight - our team are waiting in Madrid to welcome them. Thank you Mr Georgi for sorting the trip - the students look very excited.
Parents - we will be updating this blog 2-3 times per day with all of the activities we are up to - stay tuned!
After a lovely slow breakfast (and some much needed rest) BSK were treated to a tour of Madrid city centre. We got a chance to visit many of the key areas and the weather stayed kind to us!
One of the main items on the trip itinerary - a visit to one of the most famous clubs in the world, Real Madrid. The Bernabeu is probably the most recognizable stadium in the world - what a great way to wrap up day 1! We might have managed a short visit to the club shop as well :)
We were welcome to watch Real Madrid’s young side this morning in the some beautiful sunshine. With the 1st team still recovering from their extra time loss to Barcelona last night, this was an opportunity to watch the future stars of Real Madrid! Thanks to RM for getting us seats behind the dugouts!
We paid a visit to Enjoy Football this afternoon to see if we could replicate some of the skills that the young Real Madrid players showed us!
We did a serious of games and finished off with a Champions League 5aside tournament - winners still to be revealed!
to give our footballers some active recovery, we went to the hugely popular Jump Yard - our media team is currently trying to make a little reel of the all the cool videos we captured! Let’s hope they still have plenty of energy left for their football session later today!
An amazing afternoon for the students, visiting the training ground of Real Madrid at Valdebebas.
The students were put through their paces with a series of drills and practices before finishing with some games - some excellent goals were scored (see our Instagram for the video evidence!).
With the power outage across the city, we have worked hard to ensure the students are safe and still having the best possible trip!
One of the best and most interactive football museums in the world - luckily for us the power in Madrid is back!
BSK students fully immersed in some interactive football history - all essential learning before the big quiz at the end of the trip!
The evening activity of challenge matches was a fantastic opportunity for BSK students to play against some local talent.
Plenty of goals were scored, with sportsmanship and resilience on display.
A brilliant end to a busy day.
Day 6 kicked off with BSK’s second training session with Real Madrid Foundation.
The students were led through a variety of drills and practices under the watchful eye of the coaches and their teachers at an outstanding facility.
What an opportunity to hone those football skills in Madrid.
From one Madrid club to the next, in the same day! Don’t worry - we didn’t tell Real Madrid we were coming to Atletico Madrid as our next stop!
The BSK students got to see Riyadh Air Metropolitano up close - getting pitch side, into the dressing rooms and most importantly, a visit to the club shop! Big smiles all round.
On our final day in Madrid, we got the chance to visit Warner Brothers Park. An overcast day which allowed the students to fully explore this amazing theme park and take on the best roller coasters!
We are now heading back to the hotel to collect our luggage and will be going to the airport from there. We look forward to seeing you at 10:10 tomorrow morning at Kuwait International Airport. Safe travels BSK - it has been a pleasure to have you back!
