Wow. 18,000 steps later, time to put the feet up. What a great bunch SAFA have been from 6am this morning right up until lights out.
Walking sight seeing tour had so many sights to behold and some very impressive answering by these kids. What better way to eat ice cream than have a traditional Italian Gelato at the Trevi Fountains. A wonderful day all in all. Stay tuned for more...
In spite of the god awful headline, another amazing day under our belt. We started in a beautiful fresh fruit and veg market. Escorted by chefs, we were sourcing some local ingredients for the task that lay ahead. This task consisted of whipping up fresh Fetuccini, Ravioli and Tiramisu. Some serious talent on show!
After lunch we made our way to our in depth tour of the Flavian Amphitheatre, or the Colosseum, as we would have called it beforehand and the Roman Forum. Another big day was had in a city famous for it's walkability. Roll on Pompeii!!
Or Naples for those more sophisticated. An early start this morning for this lot before leaving rainy Rome in our wake.
First up was our Mount Vesuvius hike. Very proud of this bunch as they took the hike in their proverbial stride and reached the top with ease. At the top we got to listen to a Geologist explain all about the eruption and the measures in please to monitor the technically active Volcano.
Next we visited the Pompeii. The perfectly (and naturally) preserved bodies were outshone in the kids eyes by some amusing road signs, which I'll let the kids tell you all about...
Tomorrow off to (hopefully) sunny Sorrento! Stay tuned.
The energy is still high with this lot as we set sail for Sorrento. The stunning and quaint seaside town provided the perfect backdrop as we got to experience Giuliano…
An Olive Oil Tasting Experience, coupled with a Pizza Making class… Could you get more Italian? An amazing afternoon as we got to tuck in to the pizza’s for lunch. Valiant efforts all round. This was followed up by some souvenir shopping for the kids in the most stereotypically quaint of streets in Sorrento town. From what we managed to see, some parents and siblings are in for some nice treats.
Not even a bit of traffic on the way home could dent this lots energy as we got some live performances and sing alongs from this incredibly talented bunch along the way.
