We are delighted to welcome RGS to an amazing tour of Italy over the next week. After our flight from Dubai, we landed in Bologna and headed straight for our food tour of FICO Italy. Follow along with the blog for an update on the trip so far!
An opportunity to visit one of the most famous luxury car manufacturers in the world. To get an insight into the level of detail and expertise that goes into creating these super cars was an amazing experience for the students!
Another supercar, potentially the most famous and recognizable in the world - welcome to the Ferrari Factory & Museum! A place steeped in history and cool stories - even someone “neutral” (see what we did there) to cars would come away from this visit as a massive fan. Sorry parents - I think the students might be asking for one of these at their next birthday……
Shopping time with a twist! Each student was given 5 Euros and tasked with coming back with the best item for this sum of money - who do you think had the best negotiating skills and eye for a bargain? I heard a rumour one managed to get a Ferrari for a fiver…..
This morning we went to a private cooking class with the challenge - can we make the best pasta in the world?! Italy has a reputation for pasta and the students were given license to see if they can make it as well as the locals!
The afternoon and evening of Day 3 for RGS was a busy one, packed with a visit to the Imola Autodrome Circuit Track and the Gelato Museum.
The visit to the track provided the group with full access to the historical F1 track. With behind the scenes privileges on how the track operates and a visit to the iconic statue of Ayrton Senna, this really was an unforgettable experience.
What better way to finish up your afternoon activities in Italy, with a trip to the Gelato museum in which the students could make their own gelato.
After waking up in Bologna, we made our way via private transfer to the capital, Rome. Our groups split up and were treated to some of the amazing Roman sites such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Baths of Caracalla and Circus Maximus. Hopefully some of the students had watched Gladiator 2 on the flight to get them warmed up!
It is almost impossible to see all of the treasures of Rome in a couple of days, but we are trying our best! Today we visited the incredible Leonardo Da Vinci Museum which had loads of cool interactive learning opportunities.
After a lovely pasta lunch, we headed to Castel St Angelo, an area steeped in history and a perfect photo opportunity for all of those selfies.
We have 3 groups moving through different parts of the city today as we give students the best chance to experience what Rome has to offer.
All students will be getting their hands dirty in this lovely kitchen where they will get a chance to learn the art of Neapolitan Pizza making.
Other groups are doing some guided site seeing in areas we have not covered yet and the third group will be doing some souvenir shopping.
By the end of the day, all students will have experienced all 3 activities. Action packed!
Our first site seeing group got the nice cool morning weather to take in the remaining hot spots of Rome - what a beautiful day for it!
After a lovely chilled morning at the hotel and some time shopping at the airport, we are on our way back to Dubai! What an amazing trip for the RGS students.
Thank you for trusting TWEDEX to deliver another unforgettable experience - we look forward to seeing you in the future!
