The students were all full of excitement with their early morning set off to Cape Town!! A fun flight was had by all.
Time to get some nice food and well earned rest.
Wow wow wow. What a day!!! First up was a fixture and some beautiful interaction with the opponents from Be The Difference Foundation. The guys helped out with prepping and cooking for the local community, before interacting with the beautiful local school kids.
All 4 games were an amazing standard and what a start to the fixture list for NLCS.
Next up after a cloudy morning was a visit to the absolutely stunning UNESCO World Heritage table mountain. A delightful dinner followed after and sleep after an incredibly action packed day for the kids.
The action packed days keep coming and as do the smiles.. Off to see some African penguins.
Then straight to some sunny surf lessons..
From surfing, we had our sports split where the girls ventured for some professional training and the boys went to experience a game against a top boys football club in Cape Town.
Time for a bit of in house friendly competition on the beach and boy, did the kids compete!! In a 3 game series the boys ended up coming out on top with a 2-0 victory.. The girls were not too impressed as they were made to form a guard of honour tunnel for the victors of the mornings games.
Post beach games we headed off to our first of our mini series vs Curro schools. First stop Century City! The girls had an amazing 3 games, drawing 6-6, 13-13 and winning the third game to come out on top. The boys had a really tough game facing the elements with crazy wind and a real tale of two half's. Century City proved the stronger off the two teams and took home the win.
The moment we've all been waiting for!!! Off to the stunning Aquila Game Lodge. We'll let the pictures do the talking.
The excitement of seeing the animals carried right throughout the night into our team building musical bingo !! A major fan favourite with this vocal bunch.
The penultimate day was a real show stopper. Up at the crack of dawn for Game Drive number 2.
The second test in our mini series of Curro schools proved even more fruitful! This time the girls shared the spoils in three incredibly competitive games ending with 1 draw, 1 win and 1 loss. Three cheers all round. The real cheers however were to be found at the boys football match where they managed to secure their first win on tour as they secured a 2-1 victory. A lovely interactive dinner was held by Curro Durbanville after the game and some beautiful cultural exchanges taking place throughout dinner.
Day 7 brings an unforgettable your to a close. A visit to Langa Township was in store for us this morning and included in this was another chance to interact with the beautiful kids of the langa community. Tag Rugby, Chasing and British bulldog was in store for the students. All before a local South African music lesson and a cheers with homemade ginger beer to send us all on our full of beaming smiles and memories to last a lifetime.
Three cheers for the lovely NLCS Staff who managed to make this tour possible keeping your kids happy, well drilled and safe at all times. Always with a smile and a laugh on the way. Ill have to also include our photographer with a broken arm in our Staff.
