Our first morning began with a crack of dawn 6am start at DXB. Not a problem for this bunch bursting with excitement. A long journey awaited, and a very quick shout out to Staff, Parents and Kids buying into no phones on tour. Amazing to see.
After a long flight and a late arrival, we were up and attem for breakfast. Departing for Gardens by the Bay to explore what Singapore has to offer. Amazing sustainability initiative by one of the most advanced cities in the world. Of course we then visited Jurassic World Dome. Nostalgia galore for the staff and impressive dinosaur recreations for the kids. A beautiful morning before we head for fixture number 1.
Off we went for the 2 really exciting and competitive fixtures ahead. The girls face the famous Dulwich College as the boys travel to Nexus International School. Two of the best sporting schools in Singapore. Stay Tuned…
Wow!! These NAS Boys came to play. Some impressive patterns of play and dominant possession, saw both U13 and U14 ran out victorious! The girls ran out two close fixtures with very narrow losses for both squads. What a start to the tour that all was.
Time to wind down and enjoy some fresh cuisine at Newton Hawker Market.
Day 3 saw a full morning at Sentosa Island. We started with some racing at the Downhill Luge - Competitive and fun as ever. We then moved on to the beautiful Palawan Green Beach. Volleyball, Football, Races… Kids being kids. Great to see.
We go again!! This time we head for Canadian International School for the boys and to the very accommodating Nord Anglia Sister School - Dover Court. This saw the inaugural Twedex El NASico take place!
The boys ran out comprehensive winners in both U13 and U14. Simply too good on the day. An extremely impressive outfit. The girls had an incredibly tight fixture with their sister school. It was taken all the way to penalties where they just missed out on lifting the El NASico trophy.
As day 4 rolled around, so did our city sightseeing tour. With famous stops at Merlion, Haji Lane and ChinaTown these kids were all set with their haggling tactics in mind. Excited for the morning ahead.
n amazing morning under our belts, off we set for some more games! The girls headed to Nexus International School while the boys went out to Canadian International School. Competitive games in store. About 45 minutes in to both fixtures, the heavens decided to open up and a tropical storm ensued. The U13 girls 3-0 up, U14s were down but raring to go. Over at Canadian School the U13 Boys were in an amazing 0-0 while the U14s were playing out of their skin to be 3-0 up. If it wasn’t for both the U13 and U14 Canadian Internationals goalkeepers they would have been further ahead! Even better news for some of these aspiring photographers, the camera was back in action. We saw out the night with a pizza party at the pool and some Musical Bingo.
with the itinerary set for some active recovering / stroll in Fort Canning Park, let’s switch things up and arrange a game against a boys football academy!! A win win. Boys match and girls get some MUCH requested shopping. The girls came to support the boys for the first hour, great to see before we set sail for a team Nandos and shopping time. Plenty more in store today. Photo dump below as per the kids request.
As our fixtures drew to a close we had to pack the itinerary for this lot to let off some last bit of excitement! We first headed to the beautiful Singapore river cruise where we departed Clarke Quay on our two chartered boats. This was before heading to the Ulu Ulu night safari and conservation centre. We had a beautiful dinner before setting off on our night safari to learn all about the conservation efforts and nocturnal animals. A fantastic afternoon and evening!! With no phones in hand, we were more than happy to hand photographer responsibility once again over to the kids. They all loved it.
And what a hoorah it was!! Universal studios. What a brilliant end to a fantastic tour. Roll on the next one.
