JESS Tour to Singapore

JESS Jumeirah and JESS Ranches Primary Schools take to Singapore for their annual Sports Tour.

Our journey began with a mix of anticipation and a touch of fatigue due to a prolonged delay at DXB. However, once we were airborne, the excitement took over as we envisioned the adventures awaiting us. Touching down at our destination around 3 am, a smooth transfer ensured that we could finally call it a night at 4:30 am. The collective sigh of relief echoed through the group as everyone eagerly settled in for a well-deserved rest after a long day of travel.

Nature’s Canvas and Creative Challenges: Day 2 Unveiled

After a late arrival, we indulged in some extra rest to combat travel fatigue. The allure of Gardens by the Bay then drew us into a world of botanical wonders, with students creatively replicating plant structures in the Flower Dome. Mrs. Cooke’s group clinched victory with a their take on the Chinese Dragon, earning sweet rewards. Our day continued at the enchanting Cloud Forest, captivating our senses and sparking laughter with a lively Kangaroo jumping activity.

As evening fell, the group split for exciting excursions. Ranches enjoyed a thrilling Night Safari, exploring the wonders of the animal kingdom. Simultaneously, Jumeirah ventured to Marina Bay Sands, taking in breathtaking views against the city lights. These distinct experiences added layers to our shared journey, creating unforgettable memories.

Marketplace Adventures, Sports Triumphs, and Twilight Safaris: Day 3 Chronicles

Our day commenced with a lively visit to China Town, empowering students with pocket money to navigate the market independently. Bargaining for their purchases, they embraced the vibrant atmosphere, showcasing newfound negotiation skills.

The afternoon unfolded in a spirited sports extravaganza at the Australia International School. Netball and Rugby fixtures saw impressive skills on display, with JESS securing victories against the home team and Tanglen, highlighting sportsmanship and teamwork.

Post-match, the hosts treated everyone to hot dogs, crisps, and large slices of watermelon, fostering camaraderie and adding a delicious touch to the day. As the sun set, Ranches explored Marina Bay Sands, contributing their chapter to its iconic views, while Jumeirah embarked on a Night Safari, creating unique memories in the moonlit animal kingdom. This day of cultural exploration, sportsmanship, and delightful surprises added yet another vibrant thread to the tapestry of our unforgettable journey.

Day 4: A Symphony of Relaxation, Creativity, and Triumphs.

After a serene morning, our day unfolded with a leisurely stroll along the iconic Formula 1 track. The students, fueled by creativity and sweet incentives, embarked on the exciting task of recreating F1 cars in their groups. Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as the teams unleashed their imaginative prowess.

Post-lunch, we set sail on a captivating cruise, immersing ourselves in the breathtaking sights of Singapore from the water. The city's skyline unfolded before our eyes, providing a unique perspective of its beauty.

In the afternoon, the group split for fixtures, with the girls engaging in a thrilling Netball fixture at the Canadian International School, and the boys returning to the Australian International School for intense matchups against club teams. JESS teams showcased their prowess, achieving success both on the courts and fields.

As the sun began its descent, we concluded our day with a flavorsome evening at ABC Market in Little India. The hearty meal not only replenished our energy but also added a touch of culinary delight to our Singaporean experience. Day 4 seamlessly blended relaxation, creativity, and athletic triumphs, creating a harmonious chapter in our memorable journey.

Our fifth day in Singapore began with an exciting trip to the mall for a Supermarket sweep. Split into groups, students were tasked with purchasing ingredients for a picnic lunch. With strategic planning in place, they navigated the aisles, selecting items to create a diverse array of picnic delicacies.

Back at the hotel, our dining area became a hive of activity as students showcased their culinary prowess, crafting everything from fruit salads to wraps and sandwiches. The creativity and teamwork displayed during the preparation underscored the camaraderie within our group.

Once the meals were ready, we made our way to Fort Canning for some leisurely park activities. Amidst the lush greenery, students enjoyed moments of relaxation and play, soaking in the beauty of the surroundings.

After a refreshing break, we returned to the hotel to prepare for the afternoon fixtures against Dulwich College. Despite facing formidable opponents, our students rose to the challenge, showcasing impressive performances and securing notable victories.

To cap off the day, we gathered for a delightful pizza party at the hotel, indulging in slices of cheesy goodness while relishing the memories created throughout the trip. The evening concluded with Mr. Cassidy hosting a quiz, adding a fun and competitive twist to our Singaporean adventure.

Day 6: Unleashing Excitement at Universal Studios Singapore

Our final full day in Singapore was an exhilarating adventure spent at Universal Studios. From the moment we stepped into the park, excitement filled the air as students eagerly explored the thrilling rides, immersive attractions, and captivating shows.

With wide smiles and laughter echoing through the park, students let loose and embraced the magical world of Universal Studios. From heart-pounding roller coasters to interactive experiences based on their favourite movies, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The day was a perfect blend of adrenaline-pumping adventures and unforgettable moments shared among friends. As the sun set on our Singaporean escapade, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the memories created and the bonds strengthened during our time in this enchanting city.
