After months of preparation and training, the boys from JESS Ranches have finally arrived in Sri Lanka for their rugby tour.
They have a feast of rugby in store...stay tuned to their live blog for all the updates!
Our first full day on tour began with a team training session at Havelocks RFC.
Despite the heavens opening shortly before the start of the session, the boys embraced the wet conditions, putting in a very solid shift as they prepare for tomorrow's invitational 7's tournament.
Day 3 on tour saw both JESS teams battle it out in an 8-team Invitational Sevens Tournament, hosted by Twedex, at a saturated Havelocks Ground.
Despite the underfoot conditions, both JESS teams adapted admirably in a tournament that was packed with talent and no shortage of desire from all involved.
After surviving a gruelling group phase unscathed, JESS A then overcame local favourites, Zahira College, in the final to lift the trophy, with Wesley College rounding out the top three.
Both JESS teams now turn their attentions to the second leg of their tour, where they will face stiff tests in Sri Lanka's rugby hotbed, Kandy....stay tuned!!
After a cracking few days in Colombo JESS travelled inland to Kandy for the second leg of their school rugby tour.
We shook off the journey with a light field-based training session, before shifting some tin ahead of the evening's challenge matches against Dharmaraja College and Sri Rahula College.
JESS continued their in-tour form with hard fought victories over Dharmaraja College and Sri Rahula College in Kandy.
