GWA have landed! After a long journey from the UAE, our GWA pupils have landed in Tokyo and are ready to start their adventures of this amazing country. We will be checking into the hotel soon and getting some sleep before a big day tomorrow!
After a great night sleep, the group were ready to start their Tokyo adventure. First stop was Asakusa, a very famous part of Tokyo with traditional temples. Lots of chance to immerse themselves into the rich culture of Japan!
Another “must see” in Tokyo - the world famous Shibuya crossing. After getting a chance to cross at Shibuya, we had some time for “retail therapy” and to see what things pupils from the UAE buy when visiting Japan! We are back at the hotel with another busy day coming up - stay tuned.
A very authentic opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese culture - making sushi under the guidance of professionals! The best part of the process will be lunch…. Which is eating what they made!
What a cool experience inside TeamLab Planets! The students were immersed into some really impressive Japanese technology. We are back at the hotel, well fed and now getting ready for another big day tomorrow!
One of the most famous design companies in the world, GWA were given the unique opportunity to visit the original headquarters of Amada. In line with the trip theme of design and technology, the students got a chance to see up close the inner workings of the facility. Ms James was particularly impressed as the Head of Design & Technology!
If you want to get across Japan, you need the bullet train! With an amazing backdrop of Mt Fuji, the group were treated to an amazing experience (albeit a quick one!) - onto Osaka we go!
After getting to Osaka last night, this was the event that the students could not stop talking about. And we are here! We are ready for a huge day at USJ and will try to post some updates as we go (if we are not having too much fun!).
Universal Studios Japan - wow! An amazing day experience for all involved - truly one of the best theme parks in the world. While it was a little “fresh” (it even snowed at one point!) lots of our students experienced Harry Potter World, Super Nintendo World and more! What a day.
Our final stop for the trip was the beautiful Osaka Castle. A truly wonderful spectacle in lovely fresh winter conditions. We hope the students have enjoyed Japan as much as have! They will be heading to the airport shortly to make the long journey back to the UAE. Everything is on schedule at this point and we wish them a safe journey - thanks for following along!
