Day 2 | Tues 29th Oct
¡Buenos días! What an action packed day the students have had today on their second day in Madrid.
The DBS EH students spent the morning visiting Spain's largest and most historical bullring in the country - Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas - with capacity for nearly 24,000 spectators.
The kids learned the history behind the walls and some had the opportunity to test themselves doing a "corrida de toros."
Completed in 1931, Las Ventas has been home to cultural events in the Spanish capital for nearly 100 years. It has undergone some recent improvement works to allow the venue to host a range of events, including concerts and theatre performances, for many years to come!
After having lunch, students got prepared for their first test of the trip, it was time to dance!
We visited the fantastic dance academy Expresarte, where the professional flamenco dancer, Beatriz welcomed the group. Boys, girls and teachers tested themselves and showed their talent dancing while shouting oleeees.
What an afternoon this was, plenty of laughs and great movement, maybe there could be a future flamenco dancer, who knows? The experience ended up with a castañuelas performance.
Students had a great time dancing and once again, learning new cultural things.
