Follow along for Doha College's Year 8 Residential to Romania with Trans World Educational Experiences!

Day 1 | Bucharest Bound!

Doha College have landed! The girls are in good spirits and are on the bus on route to Predeal. First stop - Cantacuzino Castle!

Day 1 | Cantacuzino Castle

The castle that provided the backdrop for the famous Netflix series Wednesday - we were treated to a private tour inside the castle and also to one of the recreated sets (“The Secret Room”). The mountain views were amazing!

Day 1 | Outdoor Activities

After a short stop at the fun park in Busteni to use the very quirky rollercoaster, we got ourselves checked into our hotel for the trip. After a hot lunch and some downtime, we headed towards the beautiful surroundings of Predeal.

Team building and archery competitions now in full flow before dinner and an early bed. We will be back with the updates tomorrow!

Day 2 | Good morning!

Lovely crisp morning here in Predeal. The girls have had plenty of sleep and are ready for an action packed day. Day bags are ready and we are on route to the famous Pele’s Castle.

Day 2 | Peles Castle

This royal palace was our first stop of the day. Built over 140 years ago, it is rich with culture and history - one of the most popular places to visit in Romania. The girls were very impressed with the decor inside the castle - it has been very well preserved!

Day 2 | Sinaia Gondola

We went up to 1400m on the Sinaia gondola before having a lovely local lunch. We are heading back down to Sinaia Park now to do some team building and learn about the town.

We came down from the mountain and spent the rest of the afternoon in Sinaia Park doing some team building and other activities.

We are taking the students on the train back to Predeal just for variety and will be back at the hotel for dinner soon. Tonight - ten pin bowling!

Now the competition is real. Lane 4 versus Lane 5 - big bragging rights on the line here!

Our final activity before bed tonight and then it’s onto a great day tomorrow!

Day 3 | Brasov City Tour

Good morning! It’s a beautiful day here in Brasov - we are away to get an amazing custom tour of the city where the students will be immersed in its rich history. Plenty of team work and learning opportunities coming up!

Day 3 | Brasov

We walked through time in medieval Brasov, working as a team to solve a number of challenges. We eventually made our way to the town centre to meet Helga, our Saxon lady who met us with our reward for our efforts. Now - lunch!

Day 3 | Bran Castle

The amazing Bran Castle was our next stop. This is the castle otherwise known as Dracula’s Castle.

We were lucky to finish the tour and get a chance to watch the opening ceremony of the International Police Association for their annual Sports Games, which was taking place in the grounds of Bran Castle at the same time!

We are now on our way back to the hotel for dinner, before some down time and bed. Tomorrow is action packed and adventure filled so a good sleep is essential!

Day 4 | Adventure Day!

Good morning! We are up and moving, ready to visit Aventura Park in Brasov for the start of our adventure day.

The girls are in great spirits and ready for an action packed day!

Day 4 | Aventura Brasov

What an amazing morning at the biggest high ropes course in Romania! The pupils were really challenged today as they got a chance to work through lots of different “trails” and conquer some fears! We got a chance to finish with the zip line over the lake.

Now we are off to the mall for lunch before swimming in the afternoon!

Day 4 | Aqua Park

We spent the afternoon on the flumes at Paradisul Actavic - a great way to start rounding off an amazing trip to Romania!

Day 4 | Awards & Campfire Evening

Our final night in Romania! We were treated to some lovely surprises from our hosts here in Predeal and our students get to take home some nice things as souvenirs and memories.

Then we got the camp fire going with some music - finishing off an amazing trip with singing and dancing!

Day 5 | Goodbye!

After an early wake up, we are on route to the airport. All things going to plan; the group will land in Doha at 15:30. Thanks to Doha College for an amazing Y8 residential and we look forward to working with the Y7 team for their Rome trip in 2 weeks!
