Day 1 | Welcome to Barcelona!

Touchdown, Barcelona! Our students from Deira International School have officially arrived and hit the ground running.

Our first stop was the legendary Camp Nou stadium, where we dove headfirst into the rich history and passion of FC Barcelona at their iconic museum. The sights and sounds of this footballing cathedral were absolutely incredible!

After checking into the hotel and settling in, the group enjoyed a well-earned dinner. It's time for a good night's rest to recharge our batteries for the amazing adventures that await this week. Bring on Day 2!

Day 2 - PORTAVENTURA THRILLS!

What an adrenaline-filled day! Our students traded textbooks for rollercoasters and spent an unforgettable day at PortAventura World.

The excitement was electric as they explored every corner of the park, braving the biggest drops and fastest loops. From dizzying heights to thrilling speeds, it was a day of laughter, screams, and pure joy.

We're all exhausted in the best way possible after a full day of adventure. ¡Hasta mañana!

Day 3 - ART, NATURE, AND PIZZA PERFECTION!

What a beautifully Barcelona day! Our third day was a perfect blend of culture, creativity, and delicious food.

We started with a dose of modern inspiration at the captivating Moco Museum, where bold and contemporary artworks left us all amazed. Next, we swapped gallery walls for green pathways with a relaxing stroll through the gorgeous Parque de la Ciutadella, a true oasis in the heart of the city.

But the creativity didn't stop there! We rolled up our sleeves for a hands-on painting workshop, where our students channelled their inner artists and created their own masterpieces.

We capped off this fantastic day the best way we know how: with a classic, mouth-watering pizza dinner, sharing stories and laughs. Another incredible day in the books!

Day 4 - HEIGHTS, RETAIL THERAPY & A PAELLA PARTY!

Day 4 was an unforgettable mix of breathtaking views, fabulous shopping, and a delicious deep-dive into Spanish cuisine!

We kicked things off by heading up to Montjuïc, where we were rewarded with absolutely spectacular, panoramic views of Barcelona – a perfect photo opportunity!

Then, it was time for some retail therapy! Students hit the elegant Paseo de Gracia for some well-deserved free time, exploring the stylish boutiques and picking up some fabulous finds.

The grand finale was a true highlight: a hands-on Traditional Spanish Cooking Class! We learned the secrets behind the iconic paella, and the best part was sitting down together to enjoy the incredible, self-made feast for dinner.

Day 5 - Gothic History, Gaudí’s Vision & The Fire of Flamenco

Our final full day was a powerful journey through Barcelona's layered history, from its medieval roots to its modernist genius, culminating in a passionate Spanish art form.

We began by stepping back in time with a sightseeing tour through the Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter), wandering its enchanting, narrow medieval streets and absorbing the centuries of history embedded in the old stones.

Next, we transitioned to the awe-inspiring Sagrada Família. Antoni Gaudí's breathtaking masterpiece, with its incredible detail and soaring towers, provided a stunning contrast and a true highlight of the trip.

The day culminated in an unforgettable immersion into Flamenco. We learned the basics of this powerful art form in a dynamic dance lesson and were then completely mesmerized by the raw emotion, guitar, and dance of a professional live show, a truly spectacular finale to our day.

Day 6 - A Shopping Finale & Farewell to Barcelona!

For our final day, we dedicated ourselves to a classic holiday finale: finding the perfect souvenirs!

The day began with a shopping spree through the vibrant streets of Barcelona, hunting for unique gifts and mementos. We then headed to the modern Diagonal Mar centre, where everyone had plenty of time for some well-earned retail therapy and last-minute purchases.

After a full day of shopping, we made our way to the airport, our bags a little heavier and our hearts full of amazing memories from an unforgettable week.
