Bienvenidos a Madrid

Day 1 / Tue 11th Feb

DIA Al Barsha has arrived in Madrid with great energy and ahead of schedule!

The flight went smooth and easy, so we headed to Riyadh Air Metropolitano, home of the Atlético de Madrid.

The group had the opportunity to experienced the fantastic stadium. The tour is divided into two phases, firstly the interactive museum, where the students have enjoyed doing the jumping and agility challenges, hearing about the best performances, and practicing the club chants for the match we will be attending.

After the museum we have the tour part, where the students have been able to access the pitch, they couldn’t believe how cool it was. After that, they had the opportunity to access to the changing room and explore the different areas.

The tour concluded in the shop, where they also enjoyed their time.

Back at the hotel, now it is time to have some dinner and have some rest after a long day. Tomorrow more to come, the group will head to Valdebebas, the Real Madrid Training centre, for a training session lead by the Real Madrid coaches.

Real Madrid training session & JumpYard trampolines

Day 2 / Wed 12th Feb

What an incredible day it's been today! The students had a blast.

The day couldn't have started better. The group headed to Valdebebas, Real Madrid first team training complex, for their training session. The players were put through their paces by Real Madrid's coaching team and had the chance to experience a day in the life of a professional player. Great effort from everyone - they gave their best on the pitch.

In the afternoon, the group visited to the adventure park JumpYard. The students were very curious and some of them had already looked it up online, and it was beyond their expectations.

The JumpYard centre is very spacious, with two floors and different areas. It's the ideal activity for building a sense of teamwork; sharing knowledge, learning jump and flip tricks, perfecting climbing techniques, and, above all, offering mutual support.

We have done some challenges, raced and Amaia, our fantastic Twedex rep, taught the students some yoga balance. It has been a full day of sports and good vibes.

After a delicious dinner at the hotel, followed by a cup of tea and a good conversation, the group is now ready for bed. It is time to recharge because there is more to come. Tomorrow, they have their first basketball challenge match agains a local school.

Basketball Challenge Match

Day 3 / Thu 13th Feb

This morning, the students put their skills to the test in an international basketball match against Brains International School.

The team marked the occasion with an impressive performance against the Spanish school. It was an exciting game to watch and an even better experience for all involved.

Exploring Madrid

Day 3 / Thu 13th Feb

In the afternoon, it was time to explore Madrid. The students joined a tour and visited some of the city's most iconic landmarks. They stopped at the Royal Palace of Madrid, wandered through the beautiful Plaza Mayor, and made their way to the popular Puerta del Sol, they also learned some of stories about Spain's capital.

Day 4 / Fri 14th Feb

Today, the group had an action-packed day filled with football. In the morning, they took part in a dynamic and creative training session, offering a fresh and exciting way to enjoy the sport. The session was a mix of skills, technique, and fun challenges, and everyone had a blast.

In the afternoon, they visited Legends: Home of Football, one of Spain's most extensive football memorabilia collections and an incredible interactive museum.

To wrap up the day, the group explored some local Madrid shops, picking up souvenirs for their families.

Day 5 / Sat 15th Feb

Finally, it was time for the group to showcase their cooking skills! From crafting perfectly crispy empanadillas to nailing the flip of a Spanish tortilla and stirring up a rich, flavorful paella, our young chefs tackled each dish with enthusiasm. The energy was high, and their teamwork was truly impressive.

DIA Al Barsha students amazed the chefs with their culinary talents.

After all the hard work, everyone got to enjoy the delicious food they had prepared, which, as always, tasted even better when shared together.

In the afternoon, the group made their way back to Atlético Madrid's Metropolitano Stadium to watch Diego Simeone's side face off against Celta de Vigo in a thrilling La Liga match. It was an intense game with plenty of action, and the match ended in a well-deserved 1-1 draw.

Once again, the day exceeded everyone's expectations. After a satisfying dinner, it was time for some much-needed rest, as tomorrow marks the last full day of the trip.

Real Madrid Stadium tour & Shopping

Day 6 / Sun 16th Feb

Today the students had the ultimate football fan experience with a visit to the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid! Exploring the club’s trophy-filled museum, where history is made, it was a dream come true for some of our Real Madrid fans in the group. After visiting the different areas of the stadium they ended up the tour in the fantastic Real Madrid megastore.
