DIS depart Dubai

DIS all smiles as they get ready to fly to Japan for an incredible 8 days!

And we are off….

Tokyo airport navigated, onto the buses up to Hakuba. Still looking fresh faced for now!

Good morning Hakuba!

Day 1 | Sat 10th Feb

What weather for Day 1! The groups were up early and on the slopes by 10am - looking forward to seeing how much they love the Japanese snow!

Hakuba - Day 1 Done

You can’t ask for much better than that. 65 pupils out on the slopes for day 1, treated to very sunny Japanese weather. Great start to the week!

Camp Fire!

Tonight's activity was a camp fire. Amazing chance to see some of the snow under the night lights of the The Alps View hotel.

Day 2 on the slopes

A well rested DIS are up and raring to go again! Plenty of snow overnight to keep the slopes in optimal condition for us.

An amazing evening performance from the local Taiko drummers tonight - wow! Incredible cultural experience!

Third day on the mountains for the pupils - let’s see if they can keep making such impressive progress!

After a tough day on the slopes, the lads decided to get their recovery protocols under way!

Penultimate day on the slopes - another spectacular day of weather coming up!

Teachers Loving it on Day 4!

Great work from our six Deira teachers this week. It’s a big task to get 65 kids from Dubai to Japan, but they are doing a great job, and with smiles on their faces, too!

Night Skiing + Social Time

The rest of group got their chance at night skiing in nearby Goryu Resort. Plenty of time for post skiing pool matches at the hotel as well!

Final day of ⛷️🏂

Day 5 | Wed 14th Feb

Last day here in the Hakuba valley - we hope the students lap up another superb session in the Japanese alps!

Five days of amazing weather in the Japanese alps - no better way to spend a school holiday. So much progress has been made by the students since Saturday! Now for bag packing and resting - big couple of days coming up in Tokyo!

En Route to Tokyo

Day 6 | Thurs 15th Feb

After leaving the mountains of Hakuba, Deira's students are on the way to the capital city of Tokyo. They stopped off at the stunning Matsumoto Castle on the way.

The students have arrived in Tokyo and their first stop was Electric City where there was plenty of time to explore the local area and take part in some very popular retail therapy.

Tomorrow is our last day in Japan with Deira before they head for home. Stay tuned for updates from their final day on tour.

We are on our way to Asakusa this morning to see the Sensoji Temple. So many things to see!

The Deira International students were walked through a traditional tea making ceremony in the Japanese capital this morning, on their final day on tour.

Before heading for the airport and home, Deira's students had a final chance to explore to wonders of Tokyo and pick up some souvenirs.

What a week it's been!

That's a wrap!

Mr Pettitt enjoying the last day around Tokyo! All pupils all checked in at the airport and on route back to Dubai. An amazing 9 day trip - we hope the students enjoyed this incredible experience.
