Day 1 | Mon 13th Jan
Amity School are at Dubai Aiport and ready to head to Sri Lanka for their surfing & sustainability tour.
The students and staff have arrived safely in Sri Lanka, and were given a warm welcome before checking in to their hotel.
Day 2 | Tues 14th Jan
The students have spent the morning visiting a local school in Sri Lanka, they took some time to play football and pose for photos.
During their visit to the local school, the Amity students took part in some jobs around the building to give back to their hosts - including painting, planting, and running a fundraising stall.
The Amity students have spent some time this afternoon learning about the tsunami which stuck the island in 2004.
Day 3 | Wed 15th Jan
Amity’s third day in Sri Lanka kicked off with an amazing surf lesson.
The students got stuck in and were catching the waves in no time. Well done everyone!
After lunch the group headed to a local tea plantation and factory, finding out all about how Sri Lankan tea is grown and harvested.
There was also time for some shopping and a chance to try out the local produce.
Day 4 | Thu 16th Jan
Amity started their day with a spectacular Boat Ride through one of the largest rivers in Sri Lanka , Where they could see many mangroves and visited the Traditional Cinnamon Island , Where they could get their hands on some fresh cinnamon spices and tea , Ending the boat ride with a Fish Foot Spa
In the afternoon the team started the beach clean and to give back to the community by cleaning one of the busiest beaches in South of Sri Lanka. Travelling with a purpose - what a day for Amity
Day 5 | Fri 17th Jan
The Amity students started their fifth day in Sri Lanka with a long sunrise surf session, where some of them took it to the next level by getting the pro hard boards and catching lots of waves
Later the students did some volunteering in the turtle Hatchery where they got involved in tank regeneration and turtle feeding in the end released 49 turtles into the beach
To cap off an amazing trip the students were treated to a suprise farewell dinner, where they were welcomed by a Sri Lankan traditional dance & with bonfire where they had a great show
