Stay up to date with St Chris' trip to Courchevel, our final ski trip of this season!

April 6^th, 2024

Day 1 - Arrival

STC arrived in Geneva on schedule and made it up to a beautifully sunny Courchevel in time to get skis, boots and other kit fitted so they are ready to go for tomorrow.

After a lovely dinner with the group, we are settling down for the night and hoping for a great sleep, ready to get some Spring skiing under our belts. An amazing 5 days of ski lessons lined up - see you tomorrow!

Ski Lessons Underway!

STC were up bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to hit the Courchevel slopes for the first time.

After meeting their instructors, they were off to various areas of this beautiful resort before a quick lunch stop!

Day 1 in the books!

An amazing first day for STC. All of our pupils have settled into their lessons and are already making some great progress. Let’s go!

Movie Night!

Lots of action today so a nice low key evening after dinner. Movie night and some games for the students!

Monday - Ski #2

STC are up and raring to go - some smiling faces as we get everyone ready to report to the gondola for lessons this AM.

An action packed day coming up - full day of skiing with swimming at Aquamotion later this evening!

Working Wonders

our ski instructors are working their magic to keep the STC pupils moving and progressing. It’s a very mild day in the Alps, but it is also so quiet on the slopes so the pupils almost have it all to themselves!

Aquamotion!

An amazing finish to the day with a visit to Aquamotion swimming centre. With flumes, diving boards and whirlpools, this was a really cool way to wrap up the day. A short walk back to the chalet for pizza and then some chill time before bed!

Day 3 of ski coming up!

After a good nights sleep, we are up and ready to attack another day on the slopes. Some of the students showing excellent resilience to keep working on their skills!

Let it Snow!

We have some fresh snow coming down now - such a cool experience for the children! Some different challenges for our children this afternoon - let’s see how they get on!

Climbing!

Back to Aquamotion tonight for some indoor rock climbing. Amazing experience for the team - they are loving the challenge!

More Snow!

We’ve been treated to even more snow overnight - today will probably be the best conditions for skiing since we arrived! A lovely winter feel in the Chalet this AM, surrounded by snow covered trees. Final 2 days of lessons - lets see if the students can keep making steady progress!

Afternoon session under way

On our penultimate day on the slopes, the students are continuing to work hard as they aim to get the highest award they can from the instructors.

The sun is now out to go along with the snowfall over the past 36 hours - great April conditions!

Quiz Night

Arguably the most competitive night of the week in the chalet - the Quiz Night! Our teams of 5 battled it out over a series of questions linked to Courchevel, France and the much debated music round. Great way to enjoy some team work without phones!

Final Day on the slopes

The sun has joined us again for the last day! In less than 48 hours, the pupils will be back in the heat of Bahrain. For now, they are lapping up the French Alps sunshine while getting their last few runs in. Beautiful last day!

Awards Ceremony

We officially wrapped up our formal ski lessons with the award ceremony during the lunch break. All of our pupils received their French ski school rating and pin badge.

They will have a little time in the afternoon to show off their skills and then we are heading into the town to do some shopping!

Retail Therapy

After 5 days on the slopes, the students have their chance to spend some of their pocket money. We have changed the ski boots for snow boots as we check out “Galerie Commerciale Du Forum” for some souvenir shopping!

Back to the airport we go….

That’s a wrap! What a week we’ve had here in Courchevel with St Christopher’s School, Bahrain.

We got the full spread of weather this week - snow, rain and beautiful sunshine.

5 days of skiing lessons allowed so many pupils to make great progress - thank you to our ski instructors for their patience, humour and teaching this week.
