And They’re Off!

Day 1 | Tues 22nd April

Jumeirah College are ready at Dubai Airport before heading to the UK for their multi-sport tour.

Footballers, netballers and basketballers are set to take part in a series of competitive matches, training sessions with professional clubs and cultural experiences during their seven days in England.

Footballers Head to Charlton

Day 1 | Tues 22nd April

The JC footballers have landed in London and they’ve headed straight for their first training session of the week at Charlton Athletic’s training complex.

A worthwhile stretch of the legs for the boys, who have their first games of tour tomorrow lunchtime.

Netballers Meet Hali

Day 1 | Tues 22nd April

The JC netballers touched down in London and were put through their paces by London Pulse goalkeeper Hali Adio.

The girls stretched their legs after the flight and had a sit down Q&A with Hali to find out what it takes to play in the Netball Superleague before wrapping up their session.

First Tour Matches Complete

Day 2 | Wed 23rd April

An action-packed start to day two of Jumeirah College’s UK sports tour as the three squads took part in the first matches of the trip.

It was a successful first run out for the teams who picked up three wins from three!

A huge thanks to our hosts, Emanuel School, for their warm welcome.

Next up is a trip into central London for some lunch and sightseeing!

Basketball with a London Lion

Day 1 | Tues 22nd April

The basketballers got to grips with their surroundings in the UK on Day 1 of their tour.

London Lions player Ruchae shared her knowledge and experience with the boys, who got a chance to get their hands on the ball before tomorrow’s first tour fixture.

Footballers Win First Match

Day 2 | Wed 23rd April

Jumeirah College’s footballers put in a strong performance in their first match, taking home a 2-1 win thanks to a late winning goal.

Netballers Start Strongly

Day 2 | Wed 23rd April

The JC netballers also got their tour off to a winning start with a strong performance in their first match on Wednesday morning.

A big well done to both teams for their part in a great match!

Basketball Boys Take the W

Day 2 | Wed 23rd April

The basketball boys made it three for three in Jumeirah College’s first set of tour matches as they worked hard to secure victory against their hosts.

Well done boys!

This afternoon it’s sightseeing time.

Seeing the Sights

Day 2 | Wed 23rd April

This afternoon the students took to the River Thames to get the best view of London’s iconic sights.

The London Eye, Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the Shard were all on the agenda as the students got a guided tour along one of the world’s most famous rivers.

Tonight the students are heading to the Copper Box Arena for some live basketball action, with the London Lions taking on Leicester Riders in the Super League.

Day 2 | Wed 23rd April

This evening the JC students are at the Copper Box Arena in London’s Olympic Park, watching the London Lions take on Leicester Riders.

The Positives Keep Coming

Day 3 | Thurs 24th April

Day three of JC’s UK tour saw them take on Colfe’s School in a series of challenge matches.

All three squads got the chance to test themselves against the footballers, basketballers and netballers from Colfe’s - with three great performances to boot.

A big well down to the students who continue to work hard and savour every moment of their tour, and a huge thank you to Colfe’s for hosting us!

This evening the students are travelling north to Loughborough to begin part two of their tour of the UK.

Day 4 | Friday 25th April

The Jumeirah College UK Sports tour has been nothing short of spectacular!

The morning began with a behind the scenes tour of the world renowned Loughborough University. Exploring the campus, the group had the chance to visit some of the leading sports departments and facilities ,even bumping into a few international athletes along the way, giving a real taste of the elite environment Loughborough is famous for!

After a well-earned lunch, the excitement continued with a masterclass Strength and Conditioning session, delivered by none other than the University's Head of Performance. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to learn about the principles of elite training and experience first-hand what it takes to perform at the highest level.

Dinner followed, and the evening wrapped up with a thrilling trip to watch Loughborough Lightning take on Birmingham Panthers in the Women's Super League a fantastic way to end a day full of energy, learning, and inspiration.

What a day and there’s still so much more to come!

Manchester here we come!

Day 5 | Saturday 27th April

Day 6 started bright and early for the Jumeirah College as they checked out and hit the road, heading straight to Wilmslow School in Greater Manchester for a packed morning of Netball, Football, and Basketball fixtures.

There were outstanding performances across the board!

The Football team faced a tough test against one of the top-performing football schools in the region. Although well beaten, it was a valuable experience full of learning moments that will only strengthen the team moving forward.

The Netball team battled right to the final whistle, narrowly missing out by just a few points in a closely contested match.

The Basketball team kept their momentum going strong, securing an impressive win with a 13-point advantage!

After the matches, it was time for a change of pace as the group split for some afternoon activities:

One group had the amazing experience of attending a Premier League clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City a real highlight for the football fans!

The other group tackled mind-bending Escape Rooms challenges and enjoyed an exclusive Masterclass Coaching Session with elite coaches from Manchester Thunder, one of the top Netball clubs in the UK!

After such a full-on day, it was only right to refuel properly and the group did just that with a feast at the famous World Buffet before heading off to get some much-needed rest.

Another action-packed day and even more memories made!

Ninja Action, Shopping & Mexican Feasts

Day 6 | Sunday 27th April

Day 6 gave the group a well-deserved lie-in to recharge after a busy week of sporting action.

Once up and about, it was straight off to Total Ninja at Trafford Park for a fun-filled, adrenaline-packed morning of obstacle courses and ninja challenges, a brilliant way to burn off some energy and have a lot of laughs along the way!

After a quick spot of lunch, it was time to head back to the hotel to freshen up before enjoying a relaxed afternoon. The group then took a leisurely stroll into Manchester city centre for a little retail therapy, soaking up the vibrant city atmosphere.

The day rounded off with a Mexican twist , dinner at Chiquito's, packed with fajitas, tacos, and plenty of smiles! 🌮🎉

To round off the day in style, the group came together for their Tour Presentation Awards celebrating the players' efforts, achievements, and memories made during an incredible week. A perfect end to an unforgettable day!

Stadium Dreams and Farewell Shopping!!

Day 7 | Monday 28th April

The final day of the tour began with an exciting visit to the iconic Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City FC. The group enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s top football clubs exploring the players' tunnel, dressing rooms, and soaking up the atmosphere of the famous ground.

After the tour, there was time for one last bit of retail therapy with a final shopping session at the Trafford Centre, picking up souvenirs and gifts to remember an unforgettable trip.

With bags full and memories made, the group then headed to Manchester Airport to catch their flight back home to Dubai, tired but smiling after an incredible UK adventure!
